Deer Friend,
2026, 13 min
In the emblazoned landscape of West Texas, an exploration of history, place, and personal ethics unfolds through the journey of two friends.
Juxtaposing 16mm and digital images, diegetic and non-diegetic sound, temporality, and narrative voices, Deer Friend, is an essay film that remains subversive to the traditions' more rigid boundaries. It’s as much a nature film as it is a film about masculinity, mentorship, love, fear, questioning, and responsibility.
This film is currently password-protected for its festival run.
